Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Petrina Brown, I live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney with my husband and 3 lovely children.
My long time friend and I, decided to take our love of cats to the next level!
Our love of beautifully coloured, teddy bear-like British Shorthairs inspired us to breed, colours that are rarely seen here. We want to stay true to type but add the excitement of a little colour. We also always have the very popular blue.
We are not a cattery, unlike kittens that grow up in a cattery, our kittens grow up in a normal family environment and are part of the family, they are perfectly comfortable with children and the comings and goings of a vibrant family home. Our kittens and cats live indoors. They will come to you well socialised, very well loved and missed by us, it makes it easier for us knowing they are going to great homes! Don't be surprised if my kids shed a tear as they farewell their favourites.
When you first pick up your kitten from us you can be assured that strict worming protocol has be followed. Our kittens are wormed regularly using a veterinary approved wormer . Kittens are wormed at 4 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 16 weeks of age. They should then be wormed monthly until they are 6 months of age. After this, they should be wormed every 3-4 months.
Your new kitten should also be deflead regularly throughout the year. Most spot on flea treatments can be used from 8 weeks of age as long as the kitten weighs over 1kg.
As with worming and flea treatment, vaccinating your kitten is also very important for preventative healthcare. Your kitten will come to you with all current age appropriate vaccinations. As a guideline, most kittens need vaccinations at 9 weeks of age and 12 weeks of age. A cat then needs yearly booster vaccinations which is also an ideal time to chat to your vet about any concerns or questions you may have.
This is one our Blue breeding Queens as a kitten. We only breed a small amount of kittens each year.
We think the British shorthair is the most beautiful, lovable cat in the world.
With their cute teddy bear appearance and Cheshire cat smile, how could you go wrong. They will melt your heart, like they have melted mine!
If you think a British Shorthair kitten is the kitten for you, please call or send me an email, so you don't miss out.
Neutering our kittens is important, our kittens are sold to pet homes only. Neutering helps prevent behavioural problems such as urine spraying and can also prevent healthcare problems such as uterine cancers as a cat gets older.
Castration of male cats and spaying of female cats are carried out under general anaesthetic.
Our goal, is to produce beautifully coloured British Shorthair kittens, with amazing loving personalities .
We strive for perfect coat texture, strong solid cobby body, large round head, small ears and beautiful round eyes.
We will be breeding, solid blue, (you can see kittens from our previous litters, in the photo gallery), Blue Bicolour, Chocolate, Chocolate Bicolour, Tabby, Lilac and fingers crossed some Shaded and Tipped kittens. How exciting.
